Although GWP is a professional association formed to serve its membership, the association offers the following resources and services to grantseekers and members of the nonprofit community.

      The application format provides a guideline for writing grant applications. The report format provides a guide for grant reporting.

      Both can be downloaded by using Adobe Acrobat Reader. If you do not have this software, you can download it now at no cost.

      Most Grantmaking Organizations and Foundations accept the Common Grant Application. Please contact the corporation, foundation or organization for any additions or changes in their application structure prior to submission. A list of funders who accept the Application can be found on page 12 upon download, and is listed below for easy review.

    THE FOUNDATION CENTER AT THE CARNEGIE LIBRARY

    To provide support to grantseekers and the nonprofit community, members of Grantmakers of Western Pennsylvania joined together to found The Foundation Center at the Carnegie Library, 612 Smithfield Street, Pittsburgh 15222. Pittsburgh's Foundation Center is a cooperating collection of The Foundation Center in New York City. It offers a rich portfolio of services.

    • Counseling and Guidance for Grantseekers
      Individuals seeking grants are encouraged to call to arrange an individual appointment with one of the Center's advisors. This is one of the best ways to begin your search. You will receive guidance in how to locate potential grantors.

    • Courses for Grantseeks and Nonprofit Managers The Foundation Center offers short courses on proposal writing and related topics. Call (412) 622-1917 to be placed on the mailing list and obtain the schedule.

      Be certain to get on the mailing list to receive The Foundation Center's newsletter. It provides information about its courses and programs and alerts you to nonprofit activities of interest in the area. Call (412) 281-7143.
